Most property work is not difficult. It is repetitive, physical, and easy to do at eighty per cent. What is rare is finishing properly, every time, and saying so accurately afterwards.
WHAT THE WORK IS LIKE
Days that
hold together
A working day here is a route, not a queue. You know the properties before you arrive, the scope is written down, and the materials are usually already in the van. That is deliberate: most wasted time in this trade comes from turning up to a job nobody described properly.
You will spend time in occupied homes, in empty units mid-turnover, and in commercial buildings while businesses are trading around you. Each one asks for a different pace and a different level of care with other people's space.

Nobody is hired here for a personality type. These are the working habits that make the difference across a year.
Finding the actual cause instead of the visible symptom. The second call-out is the expensive one.
Treating someone's home like a home: dust sheets, tidy edges, and the site left better than you found it.
Saying when a job needs more than was scoped, before you improvise a fix that will not hold.
Photographing the work and describing it plainly. If it is not recorded, we cannot defend it.
Arriving in the window. Everything the company promises depends on that one habit.
LEARNING AND GROWTH
Trades first,
judgement next
People generally arrive with one strong skill and pick up the rest. That is fine. What we look for over time is judgement: knowing when a repair is a repair and when it is the first sign of something structural, knowing when to call rather than to press on.
That judgement is what moves someone from carrying out scopes to writing them, and from working a route to running one.
